I Have Bad Credit, Can I Get an Auto Loan?
Of course you can. Just because you made mistakes in the past does not mean you can't qualify for an auto loan. Even if you have bad credit, it is not impossible to find an auto loan.
Getting an auto loan with bad credit can be achieved through several different methods. First off, and probably the best for you, is to simply improve your credit. You may not be able to get that shiny new car you had your eye on right away, but in the end, you will save money on your auto loan by improving your credit score.
How Can I Get an Auto Loan with Bad Credit?
A search of the internet will give you hundreds of places offering auto loans to those with bad credit. Some places will even give you an auto loan with horrible credit. It is a matter of searching hard enough. A key ingredient to getting your loan is your financial status. Do you have a job? If so, does it pay well? Do you have lots of outstanding debt? Are you working to improve your credit score? Do you own a home?
Even with bad credit, so long as you have a stable job, it is entirely possible that you are already qualified for an auto loan right now! Many places will offer you a small loan, allowing you to purchase a used vehicle.
What Do I Need to Get a Auto Loan If I Have Bad Credit ?
It's worth it to spend some time looking around. There are hundreds of lenders to choose from, and some will have better offers than others. Important things to consider during this process are the interest rates you will be charged, the size of down payment required, the length of the loan, and what type of car you can use your loan for.
Ideally, it would be helpful to be able to put a sizable down payment on your auto. Most lenders will require at least some down payment. The greater the down payment you can offer, the greater your chances of getting the loan.
You also need to know how much you can afford to spend. The last thing you want is to get your auto loan, and have it reflect badly on your credit report because you could not pay for it.
You should keep in mind the type of auto you wish to purchase, as most bad credit lenders will want to sell you an automobile from their personal lot. It can be difficult to get a loan that you can take to the local dealership. Often your loan, once approved, will allow you to select an automobile from a pre-defined list of their current inventory.
If you have bad credit, this is a way to start to getting yourself back on track, and driving away in your very own automobile!
