Student Credit Card
Did you know that many credit card companies offer student credit cards? These credit cards are specifically for students. A parent may sign up for a student credit card as well as a student may do the same. A parent may opt to pay for the students credit card purchases instead of sending the student money month to month or week to week. If a student has time to have a job and go to student, they may opt to pay for the student credit card themselves.
Students Using Credit Cards
Most students use credit cards for such things as books and other needed school supplies. This kind of use for a student credit card is very acceptable for many. When a student abuses the credit card by using it for unneeded items such as parties and such, this action is not so accepted. A parent may then cut the student off from using the credit card at all, or limit the students balance. A student credit card is meant to allow the student to pay for living expenses and school supplies.
A student credit card is not meant to party on, unless the student is paying for the credit card themselves. If a parent is paying for the credit card, a student should be respectful and not spend unwisely with the credit card. f you or your parents decide not to pay for the credit card, that credit card will follow you or your parents around on your credit reports for years to come.
Compare: Student Loans or Student Credit Cards
May students have to take out student loans to buy such things as books and other needed school supplies. The loan has to be payed back within a certain amount of time. Some student loans come with a one to two year gap before the first payment is due. A student credit card can be used for the same reason as a student loan. The student credit card has to be paid for monthly starting after your first purchase made with the credit card. Both have interest due.
Both options also have got to be paid back eventually. A student credit card may have a fluctuating interest rate as a student low will more than likely be a fixed interest rate for the duration of the loan. If one has all the school courses payed for, than a student credit card would probably be a good bet for you. You can then pay for the needed school items as you need them with out having to pay for larger purchases with a high interest rate.
If you do not have all your school courses payed for, a student loan will give you a higher amount of money to work with so you can pay for courses and get needed school supplies. Either way, the decision is up to you and what best fits in to your life and budget.
