Applications for Credit Cards
A Credit Article Contributed by Mistie Cauley
What is on a Credit Card Application?
There is a lot of personal information that you must provide on a credit card application. No matter which credit card you apply for the application will be the same. The application wants to know your name, address, phone number, birth date, employment information and social security number. With this information the credit card company can get a credit report on you and decide with the help of your credit report to accept or deny your application.
The information must be filled in completely on the application. If the information is not complete the company will not further check your ability to receive one of their credit cards.
Where Do You Get a Credit Card Application?
Where can you get a credit card application? You can get a credit card application just about any where you go these days. Each store, whether it be a grocery store or discount store, will have readily available to you credit card applications. Banks and credit unions also have credit card applications available to you for their credit cards. Millions of online web sites also have credit card applications. You can fill out the application online or in the store for any of these credit cards.
The applications are then sent to the main company while you wait to hear if the application has been accepted or denied. If you got the application online then you only have to wait for the new card to arrive in the mail, for the company will tell you within minutes whether or not you have been accepted.
How long Does It Take to Hear If Your Credit Card Application Has Been Accepted or Denied?
If you have applied for a credit card through the mail, it may take a couple of weeks to hear the news of whether you have been accepted or denied. Then you will still have to wait another week or so to receive your new credit card in the mail.
If you fill out an online credit card application, you can be told within minutes whether or not you have been accepted or denied for that card. You then will have to wait only a week or so to receive your new card in the mail. Each way, mail or online, is efficient. It depends on you and your needs. Rather you would like to apply online or by mail.
Online will get the new credit card to you faster then applying through the mail, but applying through the mail assures you no one is hacking in to your computer and getting your personal information. But then again people do steal mail and trash also to get personal information about you. So you have to make that decision on how long you want to wait for the new credit card to arrive in the mail for you to be able to use it. One week or up to three weeks. Your decision.
