How Do I Get Approval Online for a Credit Card?
The first step in getting online approval for a credit card is applying! So, if you are going to apply for a credit card, what must you know?
First you need to know what you want from your credit card. You need to have a list of preferences that you would like fulfilled from whatever card you get. Some things to consider are APR, interest rates on various transactions, credit limits, availability of cash advances, annual fees, balance transfer APRs as well as penalties for late payments, overlimit charging, etc. If you have all these things in mind, then you're ready to apply for a credit card.
Next, you have to go through the actual process of applying for your credit card. Once you are ready to apply, simply fill out the forms online, and submit your application. In a few minutes you will usually see a screen telling you whether you got approval, or if you were denied. Occasionally you will have to wait for a letter in the mail.
Oh No! I Didn't Get Online Approval for My Credit Card!
Don't panic! It happens to everyone! There are a few things you need to do now. First, find out WHY! Do you have too many credit cards already? Maybe you don't have enough credit history? Is your credit score too low? It is important to know why you were denied approval before you continue applying for another credit card. Why not fix whatever problems you have before putting yourself on that emotional roller coaster again?
If you were denied approval because of poor credit or not enough credit history, perhaps you should obtain a copy of your credit report, and find out exactly what is going on. This can be done from any number of sources online, or you can request a copy from the company that just denied you for a credit card. They are obligated to send you a copy of your credit report by mail.
