Thanks for a great couple days of fishing!  You were able to find fish when nobody else on the river seemed to be having much luck.  I have given salmon away to a bunch of friends and still have a huge bag in my freezer!  Pops and my brothers, Gary and Jimmy, also pass along their thanks.  Hopefully we get a chance to spend another day on the river with you real soon.

Thanks again,

Dan Steinert

My daughter, Arielle, and I had a great time on the river with Dallas and the "Priate". We saw a lot of the river and hooked some great salmon. We both will be returning next season for more action.

Ken & Dallas
Thanks for a wonderful day of fishing on the Sacramento River. My brother and I had a great day. Your expertise and knowledge of the river is incredible.  You put us in all the right spots and salmon were jumping everwhere but unfortunately they had a bad case of lock-jaw that day.  We fished hard all day and got a few hits but no hook-up. Late in the afternoon, when most of the guides had already given up, my brother finally hooked onto a good size salmon on 6 pound test line, using spining gear and a salmon egg.  I was a little skeptical about being able to get a salmon to take one solitary salmon egg, and an artificial one at that, but not anymore!  The salmon took us for a long run UPSTREAM so we chased it with the boat.  Unfortunately, ten minutes into the battle the salmon wrapped the line around a sunken branch and broke the line, but what a battle!.  By that time, it was getting late and honestly, as much as we like to fish, I was ready to call it a day, but you guys were intent on not letting us go without landing a salmon.  While all of the other guides were long gone, we fished until the sun came down and still you were not ready to give up. We had been fishing since about 6 a.m. and we were tired but you kept on encouraging us and finally just as the sun was going over the horizon, boom!, fish on.  An exciting battle and a 15 pound hen was in the ice box.  Time to go home?,  no, you still wanted us to catch at least one more.  We fished for a little longer till we could'nt see anymore and you finally let us call it a day.  I have to say, you are the most determined fisherman I have ever known and your service is first rate. You had more than earned your fee hours before we finally quit. Both of you went all out to make our day, and although the fish were in lock-jaw mode, your relentless effort paid off.  Thanks for a wonderful day of fishing and we will come back again, for sure.

Hi Ken,
Thanks for a wonderful trip.  We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and you were a great teacher.  We have already recommended you to our family and friends and hope to see you again next year.

Mr. Ken,

Thank you for another coulple great days on the River! Not only is it a pleasure to fish with a great and knowledable Fishman, but I must say it is truly a greater pleasure and experience fishing with a good person. Mr. G. Gregg and I had a wonderful time and learned a million things about shad fishing.Your efforts, demeanor and dedication are unmatched by any of the many fishing guides I have had the pleasure to fish with! Your ability to make your clients feel at ease and as though they are fishing with a long time friend is for sure a gift. Your patience and understanding of the many rookie mistakes that your inexperieced clients make while sharpening their skills is a quality that many guides never develope. Your heart is truly oversized. It all makes for the kind of "dream trip" we all our trying to find when when we search for a guide. You are the best!! If you can put up with us, you can bet will be back! The sooner the better!!!

Thanks again for a spectacular and super fun couple of days that will never be forgot.

Best regards,
Mike Portz

PS  G Gregg and I remember our biggest shads of the weekend at 12 lbs minimum. Of course mine was bigger then G. Greggs. Does this type of memory qualify us as true fishermen? In fact the more I think about it I believe mine was 4 lbs. bigger then G. Gregg's. What do you think?

Ken,
Robert and I want to thank you for a great day of fishing!  I knew the day was going to be special when we saw that beautiful young bald eagle perched atop a tree above our very first fishing hole!
Watching the osprey flying over our boat with a fish, freshly captured, in it's claws, is another site that most people see only on TV!
Of course, having to listen to your horrible Pirate Jokes, was just icing on the cake!
The day was about much more than just fishing.  We hope to get the opportunity to go out again with the "River Pirate" soon.

Thanks Mate!  ARRRRRRRRRGGHH

Terry

Hi Ken & Vicki,

Awesome site.  Great fish reports.  Can't wait to pound on the Kings this fall.  Tell Ken not to catch all the fish and leave some for mere mortals like me.
