Background
Successful schools are critical to our future. Not only
is success necessary for meeting the requirements of the
No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB), well educated
young people are better prepared to become “worldclass”
citizens – making their lives more fulfilling, strengthening
our society, and contributing to our economic future.
Pacific Resources for Education and
Learning (PREL) understands the requirements set out by
NCLB. Our school improvement, professional development,
assessment, and research and evaluation services align
with these requirements and can be customized to meet
the needs of individual clients. Just as importantly,
PREL, and its well qualified staff, have been providing
schools in Hawaii and across the Pacific with effective
research-based support for over 15 years.

the Hawaii Department of Education (DOE) Professional
Development and Educational Research Institute (PDERI)
whenever possible.
Costs
The cost of professional development services average
$750 per day. Planning, assessment, evaluation, and research
services are available at highly competitive rates based
on the scope of the project. Estimates will be provided
upon request.
PREL receives federal funding to support
some of its activities. The cost of services targeted
by these projects, currently identified as school communities
serving high-needs, at-risk, and underserved populations,
are often partially offset by this federal funding.
