USA Tennis League meeting Saturday
A captains meeting for the USA Tennis League's senior and mixed divisions takes place 9 a.m. Saturday at the Ohana Keauhou Beach Resort's Island Slice Tennis Co. tennis facility. All captains or team representatives should attend this meeting and bring the following information: captain's USTA, telephone numbers, e-mail address, team name, and the name of the home court facility.

Weekly golf results
- In a game of "two-person, best ball" Saturday, the team of Penny and Casey Knowles posted the winning score of 62 in the Lea Lea Women's Golf Club's Christmas Partners Tournament at the Kona Country Club's Ocean Course. Jean and Al Watkins finished second (63). Three teams -- Carole Hansen and Jean Thompson; Lorraine Christy and Ralph Hind; and Kim and Lyle Yeck -- tied for third with 65s.

North Kohala Gun Club membership drive
The North Kohala Gun club seeks new members. Annual dues are $40 per individual and $45 per family. In the club's monthly action rifle competition last Saturday, Frank Emerson placed first, followed by Ron Finelli and Henry Wong.

Honolulu Triathlon registration online
Registration for the 2005 Honolulu Triathlon is open online at http://www.honolulutriathlon.com. The race will be held April 17, 2005, starting and ending at Kapiolani Park.

Registration is open for the fourth annual Jackpot Tournament, a men's and women's slowpitch softball tourney that takes place Jan. 14-16 at Old Airport Field.

Basic life support certification training
The YMCA Fitness Center in Waimea will host a series of basic life support certification training Jan.15. The certifying agency, National Safety Council, will provide training in Standard First Aid (9 a.m. to noon), Adult CPR (12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.), and Pediatric CPR (3:15 p.m. to 5 p.m.).
