They may not have the capacities and the other things going for them as does big business, but the small business firms still stand strong. From the Internet to magazines specifically aimed at the small business buyer and the small business owner, you will find an astonishing array of small business opportunities. Everything from a virtual office to selling room ionizers and everything in between. take your time and research carefully those small business opportunities that you are interested in. Make certain that this is what you really want to do.

Examine every aspect of the small business opportunity. Read the contracts and the fine print. Be wary if there is a high pressure to make up your mind instantly, if there is no one that you can talk to that have their own business just like the one that you are interested in, if the opportunity only has a P.O. box and not a street address. Other things to watch out for are enormous amounts of money up front, iron clad contracts, No telephone numbers, no references.

No listing in the Better Business Bureau or the state, local, and federal agencies of the place where this business opportunity originates. Check out all claims very carefully and use your common sense. Anything that screams that you can make 10, 000 per day is obviously not telling you everything.

Small Business Fraud, What Do I Do If I Am Caught up in One?

If you are caught in a small business opportunity that you have already paid money for, or even if you haven't paid money yet. STOP! Call the Postal Inspector immediately. Get in touch with your local, state and federal police both in your state and the state that the business opportunity supposedly came out of. DO NOT pay any money to someone who is pressuring you without looking at the contracts. Also, keep receipts of all transactions so that there is some proof on your side of things.

Write doen the name of the person that you talked with. Keep detailed information to that if this does turn out to be a fraud, then you will have ample information to turn over to the police. But bear in mind, if you have already paid money, that you may not and will not see that money ever again.
