The young and the old have many reasons to be extremely thankful for the development of ecommerce. As is evidenced by the age of many net millionaires and successful netpreneurs these days, age is but an insignificant number when it comes to ecommerce.

With the daily commute eliminated by ecommerce and the business brought into the comforts of the home, all kinds of possibilities emerge for older folk that were unthinkable just a few years ago. We all know that there is no substitute to experience. But thanks to ecommerce, anybody can get their experience online within no time. What in the offline world would have taken you 10 years, will take you 10 short months online to gather. That's because everything happens at lightning speed online. A customer query that would have taken several days to yield an answer from a huge bureaucratic enterprise, now takes a few seconds or a few hours at the very least.

That doesn't mean that you do not need patience to succeed in ecommerce. This is the mistake that has been made by many. In this age of instant coffee and instant emails, many a home based netpreneur has failed simply because they were not just a little patience. The difference is that if you focus and stick with a business long enough (a number of months as opposed to a number of years offline) chances that you'll make a successful ecommerce entrepreneur become very high.
