ISPs
ISP stands for Internet Service Provider, and this is the company that
provides you with your internet access. Usually you will buy a monthly
access package and the ISP you have chosen will provide you with the software
you need, plus a dial up number and a username. You will also need a modem
to connect to the internet.
Broadband
If you opt for a broadband connection you will have to pay more but your
connection will be much quicker. Broadband connections come in different
bandwidths: the higher the bandwidth the faster the connection will be.
For more details about broadband consult one of the many ISPs or try
an internet forum like internet.com or a tutorial portal like Virtual

Choosing an ISP
• Think about how many hours a day you will be using the internet, and
at what times.
• How you will be charged: by flat monthly rate or by the minute.
• How quick you want your connection to be.
• How many email addresses you require.
• What technical support if any is offered by the company.
