themselves democratically in the former Soviet Union. Everyday,
USAID and its more than 4,000 partners work to help individuals

Retirement Annuity Payments
Once an employee retires and receives a lump sum payment,
the employee is no longer paid through the NFC Payroll system
and therefore the System does not make annuity payments to
employees. Civil Service employees receive their annuity payments
from OPM; Foreign Service employees receive their annuity
from the Department of State.
Both OPM and Department of State have websites that contain
information for retirees to gain access to online services.
These include:
Using these online services, retirees can:
- Process Federal and State tax withholdings,
- Change or establish Voluntary Allotments,
- Change or start Direct Deposit,
- Change home address, and
- Request a duplicate Form 1099R
At the beginning of the employee’s retirement, the employee
will receive an initial statement on monthly annuity and then
will receive an update only if something is changed (withholdings,
allotments, etc.).
