Producing Results that Matter to Alaskans
Alaskans expect government to provide a wide range of services, such as a quality education, keep communities safe, and protect public health. State employees set education standards, patrol communities, and enforce health codes. Residents have a right to expect Alaska government to be accountable in producing results within each of its programs, in the most efficient manner possible.
Missions & Measures is the tool the Murkowski Administration uses to set goals, measure progress, and be accountable to Alaskans for getting results that matter.

"
a government's budget is about more than just how much money is spent. Sure, it's also about our responsibility that those dollars produce results. And, it's about getting a return on the dollars invested in services. But most important it's about people, their lives and their children."
Frank H. Murkowski,
State of the State Address, January 13, 2004
