Driving Records

Driver's license records and records of conviction are confidential records that by law may not be released to anyone other than the licensee or a duly appointed agent for the licensee. The licensee or agent may obtain a copy of the licensee's driving record for a fee. The licensee or agent will be required to show proof of identification and the agent must produce a written authorization from the licensee authorizing the agent to obtain the driving record.   Driving Record Release

Driver license research requests may be conducted at any DMV field office. Driver's license record checks cannot be conducted by telephone due to the requirements of producing identification and the payment of the research fee.

If you wish to obtain your driving record by mail, you will need the following:

  • Letter requesting a Driving Record
  • Legal Name
  • Drivers license number
  • Signature
  • Check or money order

Be sure to specify in your request whether you need the record for employment purposes, insurance, "clearance letter" or other. This will help us to get the right document to you for your specific purpose.

Please send your request to:
