Attorneys to make closing arguments in Scott Peterson's murder trial
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. Prosecutors and defense attorneys in the Scott Peterson murder trial get their final chance today to argue as to why he should be executed or spend the rest of his life in prison.

Both sides will make their closing statements in the penalty phase of his murder trial. Then the jury will begin deliberating whether to sentence him to death for killing his pregnant wife, Laci, or life in prison without parole.

However, before the lawyers get to speak, the judge says he may allow the defense to call one more witness.

Wednesday, Scott Peterson's mother took the stand. She told jurors "he's not perfect ... but he is genuinely a loving, caring, nurturing, kind, gentle person."
