SAXON ARCHERY MFG. Has been in business since 1984 providing you “the archer”, with a Traditional longbow and recurve delivering the highest standard in quality and craftsmanship. Born and raised in the little town of Ritzville, Washington, with a quick move through the big city of Seattle, settled my oldest boy Troy and myself back in the East side of Washington in another small community, Medical Lake, Wash In 1979. Returning to my old stomping grounds, my interest quickly changed from rifle to a longbow until 1982 found me trying my hand at gluing up a good stick. Well, one thing led to another, and so on and so forth, until 1984 found me fully involved with Saxon Archery Mfg. Finally in May of 1994  I was able to fulfill a childhood dream of moving to Idaho, and am now residing in my new facility in Potlatch.

The basic design I started back then is what now has evolved into a full line of longbows or recurves to not only fill the needs of all ages, but priced to fit your pocket book as well. I proudly stand behind my  word when I tell you a Saxon is the best all-around bow your hard-earned dollar can buy, with excellent glue lines, to finishes smooth as silk, to a shooting performance and smoothness of handling second to none.

AMERICAN TRADITIONAL SERIES

The American Traditional was designed to be a rugged, lets go out and do some serious shootin’ bow. Its basic design makes it extremely durable. Time has proven the A/T's ability to withstand the most rugged conditions. The American series offers both a Deflex/Reflex Longbow or a Recurve. When you get an A/T the first thing you will notice is the beautiful finish on the bow. Buffed to a lasting quality you'll be proud to own and show to your friends.

When strung, you'll notice the smooth draw with no stacking or heavy load-up. That's when you grab your quiver and run to the closest archery range to," See what this beauty can do". A confident feeling of making the right choice will overwhelm you as you see your arrow hitting the mark at a blistering pace feeling virtually no hand shock.

Designed with an open belly pistol grip handle style and center-balanced limb design, makes this bow one of the sweetest shooting bows on the market today. The longbow limbs are composed of three laminations with face grain Red Elm on the back for beauty, a core wood of Maple for durability and cast, and edge grain Red Elm for a smoother resistance in your draw.

The recurve has two laminations both of Red Elm. Face grain on the back and edge grain on the belly. We offer you a choice from eleven different hardwoods for the riser smartly wrapped with a feather, (or fade-out), layered in between the riser and limbs, all sandwiched between two pieces of clear fiberglass. The longbow has a choice of seven lengths ranging from 56" to 68", and the recurve has a choice of two lengths 58"or 62", and both are Fast-flight adaptable. You can order your American Traditional as either a one piece or a "pop-apart", two-piece take-down without altering the pistol-grip handle design. Economically priced the American Traditional series is handcrafted for all shooters from the beginner to the old-timer in the sport

AMERICAN "LITE" SERIES

The American Lite Series, was designed for the person in need of all the energy they can muster from a light poundage bow. Traditional archery is a family sport, so there should be a bow for everyone in the family. For years I've watched children, wives, the beginning hunter, or the physically challenged struggle with a bow that just wasn't right for their needs. Through this growing need has evolved the Lite series. I designed this series in two different lengths longbow or recurve to achieve a full working limb for the short draw person.

The shortest in this series is designed for the little ones in your family. They are the 50", Wolverine, a deflex/reflex longbow, or the 50", Badger, the recurve. They have a draw weight range of 5# to 35# scaled at a 24" draw. With-in this range we will scale at a custom draw length. This little bow is built rugged to handle the abuse a little one can dish out. We're proud to say that in the many years we've been selling this bow not one has come back due to failure. Recommended ages for this bow is three years to preteens.

The longest bow of this series is ideal for the beginning hunter or teenager, the ladies, or in some cases the physically challenged archer. They are both 56" in length and are named the Coyote, the D/R longbow, and the Fox, the recurve. The Coyote and Fox are much sleeker in design with a smooth short draw performance second to none. Its perfect for getting through the heavy brush and has good mobility in the tree stand, its light weight makes it quick to the anchor for a fast release. Draw weight range for this bow is 20# to 45# scaled at a 26" draw or at your draw length.

This series is constructed with two laminations of Red Elm in the limbs, with a hardwood riser choice from the same selection as the A/T's. This bow will cost you a bit more than the," garage sale junkies", but the reassurance of knowing that you or your family member is shooting a bow that is not only time tested tuff, but will give years and years of peak performance.

All of the American series come with a B-50 Dacron bowstring and a full one year warranty.

Hardwood Options, for the American series is Maple, Black Walnut, Purple Heart, Padauk, Shedua, Myrtle Wood, Che Chen, Bubinga, Osage, Bocote and Zebra Wood.

SAXON SERIES

The Saxon Series, is my oldest line of bows. Over twenty years of tweaking and tuning has turned the Saxon Series into the best all around custom tailored bow there is on the market today. Choices of bow materials, bow lengths, draw lengths and poundage’s, and a personalized signature are only where we start to custom tune a Saxon for you.

Imagine the confidence when standing before that once in a life time shot knowing that in your hands you have a bow tuned to your specific needs, such as a handle shape and size matched to the feel of your hand, or maybe a bow designed to shoot either your heavy or light weight arrows. Are you a long draw person in need of a short brush bow? Or maybe a short drawer in need of a longer tournament bow. Do you need it to be a Matt Finished hunter or a high-gloss, hand-buffed showpiece? These are just a few examples of things we  consider when custom fitting a Saxon for you. A Saxon with its unique design is the safest, strongest design a longbow or recurve can be, with the belly glass extending through the entire length of the bow and overlays added, makes the handle extremely rigid. This not only sends more energy to the limbs, but also allows us more options to custom fit the handle. Using center balanced deep core thin limb design we can offer the optimum in speed, and smooth performance.

The Mongoose, our D/R longbow, come in lengths of 56” to 68”, nock to nock. Our recurve, The Selkirk is designed with a semi-static limb and comes in 58” or 62” length.

You can get your Saxon either as one piece or two-piece take-down. Both models are Fast-flight acceptable, but come with a B-50. Fast-flight strings are available when ordering an extra string. Your bow will come complete with beautiful leather booted and Polar-fleece or wool bow sock and a full five-year warranty.

HAWK SERIES

The Hawk Series, is probably the sweetest bow you’ll find anywhere. That positive feeling you get handling a Hawk will reveal itself over and over at either the shooting steak or with the years harvest. Its “set-back”, handle design naturally conforms to the contour of your hand giving that positive feeling needed for a pin-point shoot.

The longbow is a deflex/reflex design legal in all current tournament rulings. Bow length for the longbow starts at 56”up to 68” nock to nock. The recurve has a full working limb design and come in lengths of 54”, 56”, 60”, and 62” nock to nock. Both models offer a shooting performance in arrow speed and smoothness to the highest standard of perfection.

The Hawk series is also available in a take-down model. We don’t sacrifice any of the unique curves for the take-down. It still offers the set-back pistol-grip style handle, but hidden under the leather handle is a pop-apart metal sleeve. The take-down is ideal for the traveler or someone with limited storage space.

The Inlayed Hawk, with its intricate inlays will amaze and astound the most discriminating archer. The inlays start in the middle of the limb on the back of the bow. As it extends toward the riser it falls off the limb and continues onto the riser with an arching pattern onto the other limb and continues out until it just disappear

KADIAK

The Kadiak is a trip down nostalgia lane…This 1959 reproduction is proudly authenticated in the finest detail of an old favorite of mine. Starting with its popular “ I- Beam” riser construction showing beautiful Rose Wood panels, sandwiching a center core of rugged Purple Heart appearing only in the window cut-out, to the red and white over-lays on the back of the handle and on the tips. Using the orange of Yew wood on the belly under clear glass gives us the burnt orange appearance needed for the belly.

Its semi-static sleek taper, deep core, thin limb design is remarkably stable. Its sleek design gives arrow speed you can’t believe as the bow lays gentle in your hand.

The Kadiak has the original dark brown glass on the back over two Maple laminations. The Kadiak Special is for custom tailoring clear glass natural wood combinations, but both models are custom tuned to your poundage and draw length. This bow comes in a 62” length only.
