There are Lots of Free Resource Centers for Small Business Owners
Finding free information and tools through resource centers to help your small business chug along can be easy, can be tough - depends on how you want to do it. Getting the website designed and hosted is only half the battle. Getting people to come in to ACTUALLY BUY SOMETHING is the other half.
You see, there are lots of ways to find resources for your small business.
Resource tip: Submission of your small online business store to search engines and directories
One of the easiest thing to do and yet proven to be one of the most daunting tastes in promoting your small business. Finding the right resource to do this is easy but ensuring results and tracking the effectiveness of the campaign can be a little.....hard.
There are lots of resource centers that offers to submit your website for free on the Internet. Just go to www.google.com and type in the search phrase 'free site submission service' and you'll find tens of thousands of them.
There are lots of resource centers that offers to submit your website for free on the Internet. Just go to www.google.com and type in the search phrase 'free site submission service' and you'll find tens of thousands of them. But the best I have used so far is a free resource for small business called WEB CEO. While the free version of this resource is limited but it is enough for small business owners like us.
Another way you can do this is to go to www.google.com or www.yahoo.com and type the words 'search engines directories' into the search box. Go to the search engines and directories individually and submit your site to them one by one. You can specifically cater the submission for each engine this way but it takes a long time.
Resource tip 2: Find lots of reasons for others to come back to your small business website.
This is called creating 'stickiness' to your website. Stickiness, generally, means that there are lots of reason for others to come back to your website - either for free stuff, information, or links.
Therefore, your website should be more than just an ecommerce site. Give them lots of articles (which we will cover later), free samples, tips, information and links to other sites.
The reason for this is because not a lot of people buy the first time round. They would want to look around and see if they are getting the best price from you or not. If they are not, they might be impressed with the kind of information and stuff that they can get from your website. It shows that you're committed to your business and making the extra effort will win you some golden brownie points!
Resource tip 3: Finding free articles and post it on your small business website.
No, you don't just copy other people's articles and post them online. You don't plagiarize the articles either.
What you can do is go to sites like these and there are free contents there.
www.internetbasedmoms.com and www.contentinfusion.com. One of my favorite resource center is http://www.freesticky.com/stickyweb/ where there are tons of webmasters tool there.
Happy trying!
