Experion, TransUnion or Equifax are the three credit bureaus and they can give you a free credit report. These are the only credit bureaus and if you write or call any of them they will provide you with a free credit report one time a year. You can also get a free credit report if you have recently denied for credit.
What the credit bureaus do is collect information regarding how consumers use their credit. These bureaus obtain this information from consumer financial transaction and credit inquiries. They get this information from as many of these financial transactions and inquiries as they can. The credit bureaus want as much information as they can get to put on your credit report.
