Since the U.S. Trade and Development Agency's inception in 1981, we have been associated with more than $21 billion in exports -- or over $35 in exports for every dollar invested in USTDA activities.

USTDA is a small, independent federal agency. Because of our size and management style, we respond quickly to assist U.S. companies in capitalizing on overseas business opportunities and responding to foreign competition.

In Fiscal Year 2003, USTDA obligated more than $52 million for U.S firms in more than 67 strategically targeted developing and middle-income countries around the world.

While USTDA projects span a wide variety of sectors, many focus on energy and power, transportation, health care, mining and minerals development, telecommunications, and environmental services.

USTDA, works closely with a number of other Federal agencies including the U.S. Trade Representative; the Departments of State, Commerce, Homeland Security and Transportation; the Export-Import Bank of the United States, and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation to advance American business interests and to support development opportunities in developing and middle-income countries around the globe.
