Network backup software - A bit of history.

Network backup software has not been around forever. In the past, businesses used a mainframe to run a 'network'. Today's systems use a server type of network. The main idea of both, is so any business can share information between its computers. Imagine an office building with hundreds of employees, utilizing hundreds of computers? Where would they be without it? They would be using extra employees. Basically, network backup software can be considered protection for a labor saving device.

Actually, most businesses could not get along without their computer network. What about your business? Could you get along without it? Network backup software can protect your computer network. Your valuable data and files need to be protected against viruses and other problems. In reality, network backup software could be your only hope of a full recovery.

Network backup software - A likely outcome?

Take for example a major corporation, employing hundreds of people in three locations across the country. The three offices have been doing very well for ten years, without any major problems. Until now, there has never been a major date loss or any kind of a system crash. This example has a hurricane taking out the southern Florida location. According to the specifications each location has been using the software. Thousands of accounts have been backed up and their customer base is safe.

Three weeks later, a temporary location has been set up. Work is being resumed and the load has been taken off the other two locations. The business is safe and without any major data loss. On the other end of the spectrum, without the software, imagine the outcome. The employees from southern Florida have nowhere to work. Without backup, the Florida location had to be closed down. Most of the customers on the east coast were lost and the business was failing.

Within a year bankruptcy was the only choice. This is of course, only a possible scenario, but it could be this bad. Where would your business be without network backup software?

Why use it? Actually, you should be asking when should you use it? The answer is before you start up your business. Network backup software should be setup as a preventative measure. Think about the guy that said it could never happen to me? Where did he end up? Maybe losing his business? Of course, not everyone that refuses to use backup loses their business. However, aren't you better off to be protected? How much money do you have invested into your business?

Is it your life savings or actually, how much do owe the bank? A lot of businesses owe more than they make and could not survive a big loss of data. The law says you cannot drive a car without liability insurance. You have to protect the other drivers and their property. Treat your business like your car and protect it with network backup software.
