An excellent item but not perfect.
It took a while to be released but the Wavebird is finally here. Now theres no need to worry about the cord getting tangled up or having to stay in one place. There are 16 channels that assure you you can get good reception and the batteries last up to 100 hours of use.Its also really comfortable. However its not perfect. For example if youre playing a game that requires quick movement of the control stick like Super Mario World for the Game Boy Player(a Game Cube accesory that lets you play Game Boy games)it will make a loud clicky sound that will make it harder for you to concentrate but that is the only game Ive played where I had this problem. For a 3D game like Super Mario Sunshine it works absolutely great and I dont care if theres no rumble on it.I never really liked the rumble anyway.Anpther problem I had is that the heaviness of it can hurt your wrist if your lying down so play sitting up.Thats all for now.

GREAT controller!
This controller is awesome. There is absolutely no lag, button and stick response is just like regular cord controller. This controller don't have rumble but I can always use the original Nintendo Gamecube controller if I want to experience rumble. The weigh and hand feel is just like the regular Gamecube controller without the cord!
The manual says the battery life is about 100 hours for fresh high quality alkaline batteries, very good! There is an orange LED power indicator on controller and when battery life gets low the LED dims! There is a green LED on the receiver, it lights up when the controller is in action, pretty neat! The wavebird is very well designed!

The controller to receiver 'wireless' connection is very solid! You can point the controller in any direction, under blanket, behind a door, outside from the window, or play behind your back, the controller never loses its communication with the receiver.

Overall this controller is great. If you want an extra/more controllers, get the wavebird instead of the regular Nintendo Gamecube controller.

Wireless Whirled Out
I just try to look at the best kinds of controllers for my video game systems time & time again. It just isn't a big deal, unless you need a extra one for company. For Nintendo, they have made some great controllers, and accessories for the Nintendo Gamecube, but this isn't really one of them. The Wavebird controller, does operate fairly well, but there are some flipsides to this wireless controller that outweigh the handling of the wired controllers for the Nintendo Gamecube. I was a bit dissapointed in the handling. It was a lot bulkier than its wired brother, which is highly featured with the Gamecube. Another disadvantage is that it has some problems when it interacts with other wireless producs like remote controls for the television. It sometimes gets caught up when somebody changes the channel toward a similar beam of radio waves, then it isn't as active to the commands you give the controller. Nevertheless, this is for die hard Gamecube owners, and not traditional owners like myself, who're so used to the wired Gamecube controllers. Get those regular Nintendo gamecube wired controllers, instead of this pricey controller.
