THIS GAME ROCKS!! This has got to be one of the best games ever created for any system. It has a compelling story, awesome power-ups, and is on a planet, torn between dark and light, which you must save. You have got to get this game if you have a GameCube, and if you don't have a GameCube, then get one to get this game. If you don't have a GameCube in the first place, you should get the Metroid Prime Bundle Pak, so you can get the first also. Once again, this is the best game ever created, and it kicks the CRAP out of Halo and Halo 2.
THE BEST GAME EVER! After I recieved Metroid Prime for my Birthday Last Year, I fell in love with it, and the series for that matter. Having played AND beaten every Metroid game, I was anticipating this game since it was first confirmed. I went and played Prime trying to master it. My fastest time was 5 Hours and some odd minutes. Not the fastest, but still pretty good.<br />
When Echoes Came out, I tried the Multiplayer out. (Yes, Multiplayer, even better than Halo 2's.) After I tried that, I went straight for the Single Player. Having played the Demo Disc, I expected it to be the same. It wasn't.<br />
I played for a week, and finally beat it with 15 hours. Now, going through Hard Mode, I can say that this game lives up to its name. The Replay Value is there, the Graphics are the best for any console game, the Sound is mesmerizing, the areas are gorgeous, the story is perfect; EVERYTHING! Go get this game if you don't yet, and if you don't have a Cube, GO GET ONE AND GET THIS GAME! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!<br />
One word here is that most hate this game because of the controls, but if they say that, then they must not be TRUE gamers, for they shall accomodate to any controls. I play all types of games, and am used to their controls. They fit with the game. Perfectly. Everything about this is perfect.
Compared To The First My friend said you have to buy Metroid Prime for Nintendo Gamecube when it came out so I did. I learned right off this is a hard game but extremely fun and long. Game is over 200 hours which makes it the record breaking longest gameplay. It was amazing looking and everything tied in just right but still was to hard and long. I have seen several screens for Metroid Prime 2 and we might just have the next major competetor for Halo 2 which releases at the same time as this one. The graphics are even more improved along with controls new features and guns. This game will be perfect like the first but only if it's a little more short and not so hard in my opinion.
