QUOTE(dominicsp @ Jan 12 2005, 07:39 AM) Hi, Is there any way to monitor the internal pages of the website. Most of the website monitoring tools provide the uptime details of the home page.
most site monitors are not checking the home page to be strictly true, they are checking the hostname. What they are doing is "pinging" the hostname every few minutes, so even if the website fell over with a HTTP error the server (and hostname) would still be "up" and you would not get a error report on that occurence. Take a look at SEVENtwentyfour (their crawler is LinkWalker btw) for sitewide page monitoring. tigger: Google Adwords (Pay-per-click (PPC) Search Engine Advertising) Sorry, should have made it clear. This is a conversion - asking people to request a follow up telephone call. The site is for laptop repairs, and this is just trying to get people to contact my client with their laptop repair queries.
How would I ever find out how well our competition are doing? Surely that is stuff they would hold pretty near to their chests? dominicsp: Website Uptime (SEM Resources and Advice) Hi, Is there any way to monitor the internal pages of the website. For another, I'm on page 62 and have dropped below page 80 on .com (was at 60). So, not so good on either.
I never thought of going there. It is interesting that my adwords ad is #2 of 4 vs. #5 of 20 some on .com … I assume my US competitors opted not to include Canadian searches in their setup (the other ads aren't Canadian either).
Soupnazis: Css (Technology and Coding) Thanks for your input, looks like I might be busy for a while checking out all the information that is out there.

Agree that knowledge can be a double-edged sword. Jill: Fixed Price Vs. Custom Project Pricing (Running a Business) No Scott, I was saying that I used to not really pay attention to the competition. Of course, the internet was a lot smaller back then, so it didn't matter as much.
Now I know better. I'm just not always sure if knowing is actually better!
