The new 8x42 and 10x42 Monarch ATB both feature
an advanced new roof prism optical design. It incorporates Nikon's exclusive Eco-Glass
(made without the use of arsenic or lead) for all lens and prism elements. Prisms
feature phase-correction coatings and high reflection mirror coatings for superior
sharpness and resolution, and all lenses and are fully coated with multiple layers
of anti-reflective compounds for maximum light transmission. The result is much
improved low-light brightness, edge-to-edge sharpness, and definition.
Nikon's new Monarch ATB series available
in eight and ten power models, both with 42mm objective lenses, allowing for
a 5.3mm exit pupil in the 8x model and a 4.2mm exit pupil in the ten power model.
Each model close focuses down to just eight feet. The ten power model has a
field of view of 314' @ 1,000 yards and the eight power possesses a 330' field
@1,000 yards.
Built with an extremely durable alloy body housing, the Monarch ATB is
ruggedly constructed for true waterproof, fogproof and shockproof performance.
The 8x42 Monarch ATB measures just 5.7"x5" long and weighs 21.3
ounces, while the 10x model is only 5.6"x5" and weighs 21.1 ounces.
Ergonomic styling, mated with a new rubber armored
exterior provides added shock resistance and a firm grip, wet or dry. Turn and
slide rubber eyecups, complemented by long eye relief, allow the binoculars
to be used as comfortably by eyeglass wearers as those with uncorrected vision.
A large central focus wheel and adjustable diopter make focus easy to achieve
and maintain, even while wearing gloves.
Monarch ATB binoculars will be available in the
spring of 2002 at quality sporting goods stores and authorized Nikon photo dealers.
Suggested list price for the 8x42 is $416.95, while the 10x42 is priced at $454.95.
Like all Nikon binoculars, the Monarch ATBs are covered by Nikon's 25-year limited
warranty and the exclusive $10 No-Fault Repair/Replacement policy.
