Our luscious lips are not really skin but mucous membrane. This means the lips do not contain sebaceous glands that produce sebum so they are extremely susceptible to becoming dry and chapped, without oil to lubricate and protect them from the harsh environment.
In early adulthood all of our skin cells, including those in our lips, begin to become more porous and less elastic. If a substance that both moisturizes the skin and restores the skin cells' elasticity is applied to the lips, then not only are the cells hydrated, but they gradually regain their elasticity so that they are better able to keep moisture from escaping. Because unrefined shea butter contains both a high moisturizing fraction and an extraordinarily high healing fraction, it's a wonderful agent for revitalizing skin cells so that they regain their moisture retention capacity.
This is a light yet rich and very concentrated protecting balm with just a hint of delicious orange mint flavor, no sticky lip gloss or waxy chaptstick feel. A soothing and cooling balm to ease the burning of irritated lips. Apply as often as needed to keep lips comfortable. Natural sunscreen properties from avocado oil (SPF7) and shea butter further protect lips for a luscious dew drop feel. Alpha lipoic acid provides powerful antioxidant protection to fight free radical damage from direct UV rays. Only a very small amount is needed to protect lips so please use sparingly.
Note: because this cream contains virgin unrefined Shea Butter, you may feel inherent crystallized beads that melt upon skin contact.

How to Use: apply the thinnest of layers to lips with finger as often as needed to keep lips moist and soft.
