 If you like Allure, get Lucky!
I originally subscribed to Lucky (at a very low rate) because I knew it was by the same publishers as Allure and I got impatient waiting for my Allure once a month. Now it has a very valued place in my magazine collection. Not only is the layout very visually pleasing and fun to read, but the samples, coupons, contests and discounts will be worth more than the subscription cost. I would say there's an average of $5 in coupons from brands like Maybelline, Revlon and Almay each month. It really has something for everyone. It has fashion, beauty, spas and home decor. I myself love the skin and hair care & makeup trends. And the products featured are in a large price range from cheap to expensive. I found a great detangling conditioner from Origins in the pages, and in a large size it costs the same as drugstore brands--What a find!--and it really works. There are also advice columns so you can write in for your own beauty advice if you want. If you have ever wondered why your face creams cure wrinkles (or don't), then this magazine is for you. If you read a magazine to have fun and escape, Lucky is also for you--no articles about boyfriends, work (except what to wear), politics or social issues (unless they're trends)!
Lucky is about what girls love best: SHOPPING!
I was so happy when my boyfriend surprised me with a subscription to Lucky!! This is a great magazine for women aged 20-35 and is about the thing we love best: SHOPPING! Lucky is a great resource for extending your wardrobe in a smart, fashionable way that won't break the bank! If you're looking for real tips on wearable clothes and makeup and are tired of reading articles like "How to Please Your Man" (Cosmo) and "Here's What the New York Socalites Are Wearing" (Vogue), then Lucky is the magazine for you! Here are some of its monthly features: - A page with "Yes" and "Maybe" sticky tabs for marking things you'd like to buy. No more messy dog-ears!
- Lucky Breaks: The back of the magazine has listings of clothes, accessories and makeup from hot stores that you get discounts on! (Many are online too, for easy at home shopping!)
- Four Girls, One...: This section shows one article of clothing worn by 4 different women in 4 differnt ways (ie. tough, sexy, work, weekend)
- The Lucky Guide: Showcases pages of a particular item of clothing including price and where to buy them. (January's issue featured lingerie)
- A Week's Worth of Style: Shows a modern woman and how she turns a few articles of clothing and accessories into a weeks worth of great looks. (January showcased Carolina Herrera Jr)
- Lucky Life: Great ideas for decorating your home in a fresh, funky style.
- City Spotlight: Showcases the great stores in one city per month, including such places as London and Vancouver, not just the US! (Includes phone numbers and/or websites so you can actually buy the clothes!) People may complain that there are a lot of ads in Lucky, but have they not noticed them in other magazines? Lucky is dedicated to shopping, so ads make sense, and they're not any more prevelant than any other magazine. This magazine gives fashion and beauty advice that you can use, and clothing you can actually afford to wear! As a 22 year old, I know that's what I'M looking for in a fashion magazine!
The "It" magazine for those who love to shop.
I look forward to getting this delivered to me every month. If you are into clothes, handbags, accessories, shoes, fragrances, or beauty products then you will love Lucky. Right down to the little stickers that are available for you to place on your "YES/Maybe" items. Lucky gives your trendy, classic, chic, preppy - whatever your taste may be. I like to see what's hot and then try to find copy-cats of the designer duds b/c who really can afford to spend(...) on a pair of Manolo shoes??
