The Family Liaison Office (FLO) serves USG employees and their family members assigned to, serving at, or returning from a U.S. Embassy or Consulate abroad. Our mission is to improve their quality of life by identifying issues and advocating for programs and solutions, providing a variety of client services, and extending services to our overseas communities by managing the worldwide Community Liaison Office program. Our major areas of interest are Education and Youth, Family Member Employment, and Support Services for those experiencing a personal or post crisis. We deliver services in these areas through individual counseling, training and presentations, publications, and the CLO program.

Director
Develops FLO's advocacy agenda and represents the concerns of Foreign Service families to senior managers in the Department of State.

Deputy Director
Manages the program and administrative operations of the office and coordinates special projects.

CLO Support Officer
Manages the CLO program at 150 posts, providing operational and program support to CLO Coordinators.

Education and Youth Officer
Provides information and advises on education options and transition issues for young people.

Employment Program Coordinator
Advocates for family member employment, counsels individuals on Washington area employment, and coordinates bilateral work agreements for the Departmentof State.

Special Employment Projects Coordinator
 Manages special employment initiatives and advises family members on overseas employment and non-government employment opportunities.  

Employment Program Specialist
Advises family members on overseas employment and federal and non-federal employment.

Naturalization Program Specialist
Provides information and referral on the naturalization process to Foreign Service Officers and their foreign born spouses, and manages the enrollment of spouses in functional training classes.

Program Assistant
Helps clients who need information on family member employment and manages the annual Family Member Employment Report (FAMER).

Publications Coordinator
Manages the Direct Communication Project and CLO Clearinghouse resources; publishes the FLO Focus, FS Direct, FLO-CLO Connection, and CLO Handbook; and prepares FLO materials for use on the Internet and Intranet.

Support Services Officer
Counsels and refers people who are experiencing a personal difficulties or post crisis, supports evacuees, and provides information on contingency planning.

Program Assistant
Helps clients who need information in the areas of support services or education and youth.

Secretary to the Director
Provides administrative support to the Director and the Deputy Director and prepares the annual Composite Child Care Report.

Secretary Front Desk Reception
Helps visitors and callers to the office and provides administrative support to the CLO Support Officer and the Support Services Officer.
