I used to go fishing around Gosford/The Entrace in NSW when I was a lot younger and loved it. Granted I was mostly only sitting near the water's edge catching bait fish with a net for the adults, but it was still a lot of fun. On one of the last trips before we moved out of the area we went prawning and I remember the sheer excitement of coming home with an esky full of fresh prawns, as well as the ensuing BBQ banquet.

Since then I've only been fishing once in Hervey Bay and once in Woolongong, and I didn't catch a single thing either time (although I almost caught an octopus in Woolongong with a hand net). I'd really like to get into fishing properly now that I have finished my studies and have a bit more spare time on my hands. I'm heading up to Surfers Paradise with my girlfriend over the first couple weeks of December and figure it's a really good opportunity to not only do a bit of fishing myself but also wow her with a fresh seafood meal or two and maybe get her into it as well. Getting her into fishing as well would certainly make it easier to fit it into future trips.

Despite a fair bit of research, there is still a hell of a lot of information to absorb when it comes to fishing for yourself. I hope I'll be able to get a decent feed but in reality I realise I may well walk away with nothing at all. A chartered trip would be a great way to get started if we weren't already stretching our budget for the trip on accommodation alone. If we could win a gift certificate for one though, it would be worth paying for the other to pretty much get the two of us on for half price. Hopefully we could just take in a fun day of fishing without worrying too much about the peripheral details.

Cheers,
Nathan

HI peoples, been a bit quiet lately, Xmas and all, but I would dearly love to win a days fishen at the gold coast. Went to Bribie in early October and went out fishing with a mate in his boat. Haven't been out since I was about 9 or 10 year's old, and had a absolute ball Very Happy . Caught my first Mackeral, and still shaking with the experance, so I would dearly enjoy getting into them and any other big brusers that are about. CHEERS woody.

Hi There,

I'm not sure if this competition has closed or not as I couldn't find an end date.

Anyway I'd love to give it a shot! Very Happy

I recently visited my parents for xmas who live on the Gold Coast. We had brilliant weather (much better than Auckland!), and an absolutely perfect time together.

We spent alot of time discussing past holidays, and my father had many fond memories of fishing trips in the Bay of Islands and the Hauraki Gulf.

It's been 10 years or so since he was last out on a boat, and from the passionate way he recounted his stories I know he's pining to feel the spray of the ocean again.

I thought I'd get him a voucher for Fathers Day so that he can do just that, and whilst searching the net for Fishing Charters on the Gold Coast I found your forum and thought it was a perfect opportunity!

It would be fantastic if he won - it'd not only make his day but probably his year too - and no doubt the catch of the day would make it into future Xmas conversations! Very Happy

Cheers,

Dianne

Yes, it’s still going.
We need just 1 more entry and then we can begin voting.
Kindest Regards
Steve

Hi Mates, I would love to fish with an Aussie captain to learn something new. Acutually, since I am from the U.S. I would have to give the trip to Dianne if I won. I thought that I would join your group since you are the best fishing site in the world according to MSN.
