World TV at Chance For Love dating Service in Kazan!
So, 12th December is the Russian Constitution Day and a day off for the whole country… except our dating agency! A BBC team visited our office on that day. Of course we are pretty popular dating service, but BBC documentary film would be a great opportunity to promote our agency all over the world, so we decided to give BBC that chance :-) Here is the story: Three delicate ladies (Lora the journalist, Patti the camera-woman and Mila the interpreter) brought so much technical stuff that it filled up the half of our biggest room!!! While organizing we got acquainted and told them something about our agency.
Our manager Sabina is having a telephone conversation, Anya is translating letters. I'm talking to Lora while Patti is getting ready with her camera.
We are very pleased BBC have chosen our agency. Here in Russia this channel is available only to those having satellite television. However, we heard a lot about this TV channel (only good things). They have a good name , so we are :-)))
The basic choice criterion was real couples we have joined together and real, not a virtaul dating service with real office. They should have already passed the embassy interview and now waiting for a fiancee visa. We had three couples matching these criteria in December and one of them agreed to tell their story to the whole world :)
The interpreter Mila is sitting on the sofa. She has little work to do here because almost all our staff members are fluent in English
Nataliya and Ray are the main heroes of the film. Last Christmas Ray wrote his first letter to Nataliya. A year has passed. Nataliya is packing things and Ray is getting ready for meeting his fiancee.
Lora is trying to pin the microphone to Sabina's clothes. Our office is working as usual. We don't meet BBC here daily but men and women cannot wait :)So we are having a common working day.
The love story of Natasha and Ray is only one of many successful stories. For BBC it is a good example of two people that have found each other through a marriage agency. They are starting!
Sabina says, "We are going to be movie-stars! She is a cheerful and joking girl!
We know well the list of questions they asked Zhanna and Sabina because
you ask them every day!
Another question, "Do you consider your job rather hard or pleasant?" Sabina replies, "Certainly pleasant! We deal with people and their lives. Each letter and each action are very important here".
They asked all the ladies how long they have been corresponding, who their men are, if they have already planned the first meeting and (the main question) why they have joined the agency. Women differ and answers differed too. The pragmatic ones: I want to have more interests in life, get married. The romantic ones: I trust in love at first sight, I guess I can find my special man through correspondence.
12th December is a day off and women can easily find time to some to the agency. Plenty of ladies visited our office on Friday and many of them agreed for an interview!
By the way, we have found the first letters of Nataliya and Ray! Do you know that we've kept letters since 2000? We do not throw them away and several bookcases have been already stuffed up with them :-) Documents!
One of the questions journalists are interested in is the new American law that is just being discussed in the Congress. It is regulating marriage agencies activity and checking clients' background (each man's convictions, the number of marriages and so on). Must be really important but still no way to fulfill it.
We told you a week ago that Newsweek journal had published the same issue. It is very popular now. The shooting day is over! Chill out!
To tell the truth, we prepared some tasty things for our guests but they managed to find only 5 minutes (their precious working hours!) to drink tea. Well, on the following day we were eating the cake that we had bought specially for them and sharing our impressions from the shooting. :-)
By the end of the day we were totally fagged out. Being movie stars is not an easy task :)) But we kept our sense of humor!
The film was shown on BBC2 channel and we have got our own copy of it. So if you want to get it just send us an e-mail and we will send it you for a small fee ? Lora
says they've chosen our agency our of 40 other agencies! On the background
you can see our second manager Zhanna. They work by turns with Sabina
Personal
questions: Lora asked Sabina and Zhanna if they would like to marry foreign
men. However, our girls are already in serious relationships and Zhanna
is getting married right before the New Year. But hush!… It's a top-secret
:)
Our
women clients are coming. The blond girl's name is Alla Maslennikova.
She was the first to come to the agency.
Sabina
is printing a letter for Alla and the BBC team are shooting the process.
They
were shooting ladies walking along the corridor, entering the office,
getting letters and writing answers. They changed so many cassettes and
accumulators! However, no doubt the main heroes are Natasha and Ray!
Lora
asked for details of Natasha's and Ray's relationships. However, everything
was very common: they met virtually, corresponded, met really, applied
for a fiancee visa and had plenty of telephone conversations. What is
your stage?
Aida
Akhmadullina (the lady in dark sitting on the sofa) is too modest to give
an interview. However, she got her shot!
Lora
says to me, "You have fantastic, very friendly and open girls! More
than I expected"

Our
office has been closed and all the women clients have left. Today it has
become the field for shooting a film and tomorrow we are going to do our
common job that is joining people hearts together!
