Foreign Service Specialists provide unique services in support of foreign policy at one of nearly 265 posts worldwide or in Washington, D.C. Specialists are an integral part of a team dedicated to representing America's interests in other countries.
You don’t have to be overseas to play an instrumental part in our nation’s foreign relations. Hundreds of men and women work for the Department right here in the United States.
Student Programs enable students to obtain on-the-job experience in a foreign affairs environment. Some of our students work in Washington, D.C., while others have the opportunity to work at U.S. embassies and consulates abroad.
