| The U.S. and the Organization of American StatesThe U.S. Mission to the Organization of American States (OAS) is headed by Ambassador John F. Maisto, who has served as Permanent Representative to the OAS since July 31, 2003. The OAS is the premier multilateral forum in the Western Hemisphere.
