We will be reeling out 2004 and reeling in 2005 over the next few weeks with our annual Trout and Salmon Fishing Reports - WATCH THIS SPACE Meanwhile the Irish Trout Fly Fishing Association will take place in the Greville Arms Hotel  on Sunday 6th February at 2-30pm - see Mick Flanagan's (Angling Correspondent) report for further particulars

  • REPORT ON THE ShRFB SEMINAR SEPTEMBER 23, 2004 'Shannon Waters - working together for the future'

  • CONSERVATION OF SALMON AND SEA TROUT BYE LAW NO 797, 2004 INTRODUCED: This Bye-law provides for a bag limit of 1 fish being either a salmon or sea trout per angler per day from 1 September 2004 to 31 December 2004 and continues the imposition of a bag limit of 1 fish per angler per day from 1 January to 31 May, and 3 fish from 1 June to the end of the fishing season, subject to a total allowable catch of 20 fish per year.  CLICK HERE to download full Bye-Law in Word

 I.T.F.F.A....

The Harry Potters of the Angling World are starting to wave their "Magic Wands" yes the trout season is only a few weeks away, with some of the western lakes opening on February 15th. With this in mind the annual general meeting of the Irish Trout Fly Fishing Association will take place in the Greville Arms Hotel  on Sunday 6th February at 2-30pm.Their are almost 100 angling clubs affiliated to the I.T.F.F.A and each club is entitled to send two voting delegates, by now all clubs will have received their delegate forms from I.T.F.F.A (Hon Secretary) Michael Callaghan. It's very important that your club fill-in and return these forms to Michael before February 1st, More info on I.T.F.F.A. Michael Callaghan 049-8544506.
