So what is this test about then? Search engine optimization spelling and regionalization is what its about. For some reason, you can optimize a page, but Yahoo and MSN will decide where regionally that page belongs on the spelling, or so it would seem. The reason I believe that is because my SEO website uses the American spelling of "search engine optimization" and not the other language counterparts, utilizing the "s" instead of an "z" and so forth.
Basically, my website seems to rank very erratically within Yahoo and MSN global search for the term, "search engine optimization". Google web results are standard whether you check the term in google.com, google, com.au or google.co.uk, the terms ranking remains the same for its spelling. Not Yahoo and MSN.
Google seems to have no repercussion to the affect of spelling on regionalization, so I don't expect to see anything from Google on this result, except for maybe three websites all ranked in the same global web results index for each term. Now the sites are all hosted in the US, and as such, Google state that your site will be regionalized by its IP and domain regional code if any, and this seems to be accurate to what they state.
Now that seems a little too smart, you think? The search engines surely do not know me, so they do not know where I live, but they do read the page content and from this they can regionalize your site if it utilizes a regional term too much in my belief. So this little search engine optimization test will help define this.
It is my belief that you can manipulate your .com into the correct MSN and Yahoo index simply by placing certain key regional terms with specific locations of your page to help them regionalize the entire site. Why does my search engine optimization site only appear in MSN and not others? Why does my search engine optimization site appear higher in the American Yahoo results than other results, or not even seen for that instance? Same spelling, supposedly same web index? Why so different? This will give us an indication of how to get your results listed within the relevant regional area simply by including your regional term within the page title and page copy.
See what happens from this search engine optimization American spelling test, shall we?
