Illinois trounces Michigan State 81-68

Since Illinois' undefeated record and 17-game Big Ten winning streak were not enough for some people, the Fighting Illini shot Michigan State out of the Spartans' own building, 81-68. Illinois improved to 22-0 and ran the Big Ten streak to 18.

Cardinals' Smith denies reports of retirement

Emmitt Smith denied a report Tuesday that he will retire. ESPN.com, citing unidentified "confidants" of the running back, reported that Smith will retire Thursday. Smith spent the last two seasons with Arizona after 13 years in Dallas. His 18,355 rushing yards are the most in NFL history.
