Launch of pKADS, the portable Knowledge Asset Development System

On December 10, 2003, at the World Summit on the Information Society, UNFPA, the Government of Ireland and the Government of Jordan launched the portable Knowledge Asset Development System (pKADS). pKADS is a CD-ROM version of UNFPA's in-house on-line Knowledge Asset Development System (KADS) which is now in use as part of a broad-based organization-wide Knowledge Sharing Strategy. pKADS is an open source knowledge sharing tool used to collect, distill and synthesize lessons learned in a way that would improve results and inform policy and development strategies.
