Implementing Knowledge Sharing In UNFPA

Presented at the World Bank Fifth Annual Staff Exchange Program and Knowledge Sharing Conference and Expo session entitled The Next Frontier in Knowledge Sharing for Development, Washington, June 2004. The session looked at the next generation of knowledge sharing in development agencies. Making Knowledge Real: Knowledge Sharing at UNFPA

UNFPA has developed a new approach to knowledge sharing which is proving to be quite innovative. The centerpiece of UNFPA's Knowledge Sharing Strategy is the experiential and operational knowledge of staff, which is now captured in Knowledge Assets. This brochure describes the elements and fundamentals of Knowledge Assets and introduces UNFPA's in-house online Knowledge Asset Development System (KADS) as well as the portable open source software version of this tool (pKADS).
