Bald
Head Island Golf
Bald Head Island offers an
excellent 18 hole George Cobb designed championship golf course. Considered one of
the finest courses in the Carolinas, the golf course plays differently every hole
depending on the wind direction. The first nine, winds its way through the maritime
forest and freshwater lagoons. The back nine plays along the Atlantic Ocean with
scenic views and passing ships. The golf course is so secluded from hole to hole,
that other golfers cannot be seen.
The golf course offers a 143
slope rating and a 74.2 course rating. The course is in total 6,855 yards. On
every hole, trees, gators, and water abound. Throughout every hole, you will pass
century old live oak trees and sabal palms. As beautiful as these ancient oaks are,
they are quite an obstacle to get around. Sand traps are often spotted on every hole
and suspiciously surround the greens. The bent grass fairways make good lies a
pleasure to behold. Come see Bald Head Island and its fabulous golf course.
