School of Continuing Studies

(423) 439 - 8300

Text Box: As an academic service provider for the University, the School of Continuing Studies offers a variety of opportunities through these divisions:
The Division of Cross-Disciplinary Studies makes it possible to offer selected credit courses either at the workplace or in local communities.
The Bachelor of General Studies program caters to adults who began to matriculate toward a degree sometime in the past but were not able to complete the degree.
The Bachelor of Applied Sciences is a degree program for students with Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degrees in technical fields.
The Division also administers the new TBR Online Regents Degrees:
* Bachelor of Science in Professional Studies (Information
   Technology and Organizational Leadership)
* Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies
* Master of Arts in Liberal Studies
These programs allow for alternative graduate education that is flexible and interdisciplinary.
Distance Education plays a central role in the University's ability to serve students in their own community, thereby saving the students time and transportation expense.  We are very careful to not sacrifice quality as distance education courses are delivered.  The physical facilities in Bristol, Greeneville, and Kingsport  afford students the opportunity to stay close to home and work toward a degree, thus giving the opportunity for peer support. These facilities also allow us to emphasize that ETSU is truly a regional university.
Professional Development offers national or regionally known non-credit programs and can custom design a program for those who have a need.
The federally supported TRIO Programs provide a great opportunity for low income first generation college students, college bound students, or veterans. Students' chances of success in earning a degree are greatly enhanced through these programs.
To assist ETSU students, Inside Track offers free tutoring services for selected undergraduate courses.
As you scan through the following web pages, which describe these programs in more detail, we hope you will discover that one or more of the functions will benefit you personally, professionally, or in your workplace, and that ETSU will be the University of Choice  for your continuing education needs.
