The recreational boating industry is working hard to educate boaters and develop new technologies that prevent harm caused by carbon monoxide emitted from boat engines. A Guide for Multiple Use Waterway Management is a tool for resource managers, planners, regulators and other professionals and stakeholders who are trying to make sense of an evolving and somewhat unwieldy body of knowledge about multiple use waterway issues and conflicts and the methods and processes for coming to terms with them. This Guide is intended both to inform and facilitate ongoing learning and exchanges about planning, management and regulation of multiple use waterways and the outcomes of those efforts. NMMA and PWIA played a large role in the development of the guide.
