1) What quality standards is your facility approved to?
We are currently certified by Quality Management Institute (QMI) demonstrating compliance for the ISO 9001:2000.
2) What's a honeycomb sandwich panel or
honeycomb panel structure?
Sandwich construction is a technique in which two high modulus, high strength facing sheets are bonded to a low-density core material. (The construction could be compared to that of an 'I' beam)
3) What are the main benefits of a
honeycomb composite panel?
- Weight savings to 90%
- High strength to weight and stiffness to weight ratio
- Cost savings in handling and shipping.
4) Who's using
honeycomb composite assemblies or
lightweight
honeycomb composites?
Presently we are servicing the Truck, Automotive, Medical, Recreational Vehicle and Boat industries.
5) Are the products enhanced by incorporating sound dampening characteristics?
Products made with CCV honeycomb sandwich panels provide effective sound dampening against the exterior environment and structural noise thus increasing internal comfort.
6) What's the insulation value?
The insulation value (R value) can range from 2.5 to up 6 depending the thickness of the panels. Specific customer requirements can be achieved through the use of special honeycomb cores and facings.
7) What's the composite panel weight per Sq/Ft?
The overall weight is in direct relationship with the facing material, adhesives and honeycomb core used; therefore it is difficult to specify a general value. Our goal is to save at least 40% if comparing with standard fabrication methods or customer's existing products.
8) What is the normal or standard sandwich panel thickness?
Even knowing that CCV has several honeycomb cores in stock (from ½" to 2") we can custom manufacture any necessary thickness to comply with design or customer requirements.
9) Why should we buy products if you're located Canada?
Canadian Commercial Vehicles is located in Kelowna, British Columbia (recently touted "The most cost competitive location for business" by KPMG) being about 1.5 hours from the US border. Considering the exchange rate relationships between Canadian and US currencies, our products are naturally extremely competitive. Because we are manufacturing and shipping lightweight products, shipment cost won't compromise our bottom line.
10) Do you have distribution centers or offices in United States?
Yes. Even knowing that our products are manufactured in Canada, throughout our organization structure, we are able to properly represent our company across United States, Mexico and China.
11) How do I get lightweight composite samples?
We have standard samples available upon request however specific samples
can be manufactured to better suit your product or application needs. (To
receive samples please fill up the information request from.
12) What's the minimum order?
CCV doesn't have minimum order policies therefore, we are flexible to
provide a product and volume that would suffice your requirements.
