Choosing Keywords is the first and most
important step in any Internet Marketing Campaign.
We should give you a warning that trying to guess your traffic based
off of any of the numbers given in the tools below is a dangerious thing
to do. When we analyze the "popularity" of phrases, we Only
use the numbers as a "comparision" tool. We compare the popularity
of phrases against each other, but we never guess traffic based from
these numbers.
WordTracker -
We stop at Step 2 and compare these numbers
Google
Adwords Keyword Tool - help with finding broad areas related to
your keywords.
Overture
Keyword Tool - we seldom use this tool, as there are serious flaws
in trying to related these against how places like Google, Yahoo, and
MSN display results in the "natural" listings area.
Aleksika
Keyword Lookup
Once you've got your "possible keywords" list, it's wize to
study your competition for those keywords. You may think you want to
be #1 for something like "Cars", but if you see that the top
sites have thousands and thousands of links to them, and you don't think
you can achieve that for your site, then you might want to analyze other
phrases to see where your time and effort, as well at patience, may help
you more.
We've created a tool where you can enter in a seach phrase, as well
as your website address, and see your backlinks, and your competitors.
There's also a few other things that our tool shows you.
