Stacy and I are holding a fish taken by our guest and
friend Ben Matheson. Ben hooked the fish while wading. After some
shaking and thrashing, the big bow parked and Ben could do
nothing. Little by little, the fish was taking line in small
bursts. After 30 min, I got Ben in the boat with Stacy manning
the net. We moved laterally to the fish and got him working
downstream. He finally jumped and we saw him for the first time.
The sounds three grown men make upon seeing such a fish cannot be
described. Stacy made the scoop and we hit the bank for some
careful pictures before releasing the beast. This fish could not
be held by one person. He was just too big, girthy and
powerful.
