The Inn at Essex and The New England Culinary Institute
Nestled in the green hills of Vermont, the Inn at Essex combines luxurious country-inn accommodations and resort amenities with some of the finest gourmet cooking anywhere in the country.
In addition to a golf course, 6 har-tru tennis courts, outdoor pool, and beautiful horticultural gardens, the Inn at Essex houses the northernmost campus of the New England Culinary Institute (NECI). Founded in 1980, NECI provides culinary training that is patterned after the medical-school model of real-life intensive learning. The school's educational model, unique in the culinary world, features small classes and real-life experience in the Inn’s two restaurants and banquet facilities, which serve as working classrooms for future restaurant professionals. Working under the watchful eye of renowned chefs and managers, who supervise an average of seven students at a time, students perfect basic and complex techniques through hands-on practice.
