New York, NY (June 17, 2002) - Debevoise & Plimpton is pleased to announce that effective July 1, 2002, Timothy K. Beeken will become Counsel to the firm and succeed Theresa Marmo, the firm’s current Managing Attorney, who is retiring after serving in this position since 1980.
In his role as Managing Attorney, Mr. Beeken will be responsible for management of the litigation functions that the office has traditionally overseen. He will also play substantial roles in the firm’s in-house litigation training, in working with the Pro Bono Committee on coordination and supervision of pro bono work, in knowledge management and in assisting large information processing efforts with the Litigation Support Group. He has been a litigation associate at Debevoise since 1991.
Mr. Beeken received his J.D. in 1991 from Columbia Law School, where he was a Stone Scholar, and his B.A. from Haverford College in 1983.
