Canada Book Day

Ever been "In the Skin of a Lion"?
CANADA READS is a project of CBC Radio where one book is chosen for the nation to read together. In April 2002, host Mary Walsh led former prime minister Kim Campbell, actor Megan Follows, musician Steven Page of the Barenaked Ladies and writers Leon Rooke and Nalo Hopkinson on a competitive quest. They each defended their choice of one work of Canadian fiction as the title all Canadians should read. Each day, one book was voted off the list until a single book remained: In the Skin of a Lion by Michael Ondaatje, as chosen by Steven Page. You can hear the discussion on the Panel Discussion page and learn more about the book by visiting the In the Skin of a Lion page.
