Copywriting for the web - it's a little different.
Short and sharp
The usual rules apply: perfect spelling, grammar and punctuation; keep the copy short, sharp and focused.
The main difference between online and offline copywriting is that few people spend time properly reading web sites - they 'skim read', looking for words or images that appeal. So we need to draw attention to those words or phrases.

That title probably got your attention, and while it may be effective it's not one we'd normally recommend.
There are a number of methods we use: titles, sub-headings, CAPITALISED words, high-lighting, bold text, coloured text, etc.
We're not just writing for humans
One very important consideration - it's not just humans who read your web site. Search engines, such as Google, send out automated computer programs, called 'spiders', that 'read' a web site. Depending on the content and layout of the site, the search engine spider decides how important that site is and assigns it a ranking.
This is a critical element of web design if you hope to gain a good search engine position. Fortunately we are very good at it.
