Woody Plant Symposium: Reclaim Your Woodlands
February 25, 2005
Chicago Botanic Garden, Glencoe, Illinois
Patches of what once was a beautiful native forest have been under siege from invasive plants and people since we entered the industrial revolution long ago and began altering nature. This symposium is designed to address the best practices for understanding and reclaiming your woods and forests, from small areas like a patch of trees in a backyard to large parks and forest preserves. Green industry professionals who work with woody plant material will find this symposium helpful for daily operatons and long-range planning. Engaging topics will include the understanding of both pristine and unbalanced forests, restoration efforts that can be taken to reclaim a patch of woods, and design ideas and plant species that would work well in a restored forest.
