Visit our special B&B in the beautiful Blavet Valley area, near the
interesting market town of Baud, northwest of Vannes. It is ideal for
adult groups, couples and singles who are interested in walking,
cycling, bird spotting, music, painting, golfing, relaxing, visiting
historical sites and the beautiful coast. At ‘Tyanda,’ our traditional
farmhouse, you can try your hand at weaving, stained glass, exercise
and massage, music making, painting and drawing.
We have prepared a variety of scenic walking, cycling and sightseeing
itineraries if you wish. Brittany’s coastal region and interior is a
treasure to explore, especially on foot. It boasts more way marked
paths than any other region in France and circular routes are
numerous. This is also marvellous cycling country with its undulating
hills. The Tour de France comes through here but you can go at your
own speed! Most people prefer to use their own bikes, however, there
are a few spare bikes if you wish to borrow one. We have ample under
cover storage space for your own bikes. The Gulf of Morbihan, with its
mild climate, has a unique ecosystem providing a haven for many
species of bird and there is a sanctuary with hide open to the public.
There is a stimulating 9 hole course just a few kilometres away plus 5
excellent scenic golf courses on the south coast which are just over
half an hour’s drive away.

We have workshop space on site. A large weaving loom
is available for you to have a go on, yarn and advice provided. We
have a range of coloured glass for the making of stained glass
pictures. Your first attempts may not look like the ones in
cathedrals! Have a go at pyrography where you create designs by
burning patterns in wood. We play a variety of instruments, enjoy jam
sessions round the BBQ, so bring your acoustic instruments. Try out
some Breton dances. Remember the world-renowned Celtic music festival
in Lorient, much of which is free, is at the beginning of August.
There are also many traditional village festivals throughout the
summer. The area is famous for the French artists who visited here to
use the fantastic light. Bring along your drawing and painting gear.
The large, comfortable, former farmhouse is
set-aside for B&B and we have a variety of rooms available. Within our
spacious gardens of approximately 2 acres we have secluded sunken
areas, a large splash pool, table tennis, garden chess and boules. We
are located in a small village with its own thriving bar and a museum,
which holds an amazing collection of Breton coffee pots and soup
tureens. We are 3 km from two large villages, Melrand and St
Barthelemy, with shops, bars and restaurants.
