Nature is abundant on Bald Head Island.  Beautiful Butterflies float along on the midsummer breeze. Curious Raccoons will find their way to your home in search of food and other playful activities. Pelicans ride the ocean breeze along the beach awaiting their next dinner.  Ospreys and Bald Head Eagles ride the thermals high in the sky.  White Tail Deer pass you along the winding trails on Bald Head Island. Small Green Lizards will greet you on your balcony's and screened porches.  These creatures are harmless and display a brilliant array of colors.  Alligators sun themselves along the fresh water lagoons.  Blue Crabs make their way into the tidal marsh in search of food and shelter.  Dolphins will swim past you while sunbathing on the beach.  Giant Loggerhead Sea Turtles climb onto the sandy beaches at night in search for a safe place to lay their eggs.

Bald Head Island is a magical paradise when it comes to nature.  It is all around us.  We never forget just how fragile nature is here.  Nature should be respected, admired and most importantly left alone.  Please do not feed or try to get close to the nature of Bald Head Island.
