Re: Rope-Release Nock
The Rope Nock provides a number of benefits and a few potential setbacks:

Benefits:
1. Virtually eliminates broken servings.
2. Increases accuracy - because you pull the same way every time.
3.Reduces the need for a rubber tube on your peep.
4. Quieter Shots.

Setbacks:
1. You will need to reduce draw length on your bow.
2. You will probably need to increase draw weight to make up for draw length reduction.
3. Big setback if it comes off at full draw.
To insure a secure hold be sure to dip each end of the rope in epoxy to form a bead on each end which will not pull through the half hitch knot. Let that dry for a while before installing.
Or you can tie a very tight small single knot on each end, but make the rope 5 inches long when you start.

So... you be the judge.
If you want to try one - here's how to do it:

1. Take a 4.5" piece of release rope or 2mm braided nylon.
2.
Dip the ends in epoxy to form a good sized bead on each end which will not pull through the half hitch knot - be sure to let it dry properly.
Or you can tie a very tight small single knot on each end, but make the rope 5 inches long when you start.
3. Tie a half hitch with each end to your bowstring in alternate directions (pictured).

4. Determine the nocking point on your bowstring and serve your new rope nock with 1/2inch of serving above and below rope nock, making sure these two short servings are secure and will not unwind.
5. Re-Check your nocking point location
6. You can adjust the overall size of the rope nock by loosening one end and pulling the rope through and then re-tighten the half hitch knot. When you are satisfied with the overall size - cutoff the excess rope leaving 1/8 inch extra. Remove the rope nock from the bow string and dip the cut end in epoxy to make a good-sized bead. Let that dry and reinstall the rope nock on your string

You are ready to go........... Good Luck, and pay close attention to the knots for the first 2 thousand shots or until it wears out, whichever comes first!!!

I hope you get the point that this must be done carefully and correctly for your safety and for your confidence!!!
