In the May 4, 2003 issue of the Washington Post, writer Jen Chaney in Saltwater Taffy for Peanuts describes her experience of fulfilling her under $100 weekend trip to Bethany Beach, Delaware. Like so many other internet savvy, deal finding vacationers, she found the perfect condo rental for less then $25/night/person – and she found it on 1st Choice! "A listing on the Internet had allowed me to directly contact the owner of a one-bedroom, 11/2-bath unit in Sea Colony's Annapolis building that easily accommodated four people and was a two-minute walk to the beach," Chaney shares.
Renting direct from vacation rental owners, vacationers often find reasonable rates on homes and condos. And by splitting the cost with traveling companions and utilizing their own kitchen facilities, save money otherwise spent on individual hotel rooms and eating out.
